An interesting assemblage of photos there, Geoff, as ever. :thumbup: I see that Painless is just about to start a spot of work on an M10; but not the Achilles. From what I've read, the crews of these things- in spite of the terrific view of their prey-
would have been happy to have had a turret above their heads, especially when entering urban environments. They were a magnet for snipers, hand grenades, Machine guns and- for all I know the contents of a chamber pot too :shifty:

Thanks Geoff, I will be building a early test version of the Achillies, which has the early style counter weight and of course the 17 pdr.
