Hi Guys

So finally got my PIII to run very well and in a straight line "Yay" no wiser to what was causing her to veer left but after taking the whole lower apart tracks and gears she's now a lovely runner and the brass gears are much quieter so that's great.....but now the outer road wheels want to come off on every turn, they can't be glued as they have bearings and would just stick, any ideas ?

What brand PIII? The Mato PIII has that problem with the outer roadwheels and you have to be very careful when you glue them. I use zap goo around the very bottom of the point where they meet, mainly to keep them from sticking. I find the goo easier to control than super glue and I just live with the 10 minute dry time.

Replace the iddler wheels, the sprochet and the mato track tensioners for the taigen ones.

cheers guys, its the taigen metal lower and wheels. I'll give the Zap glue a whirl see if it helps, I have tried a glue but they did stick, I'll try again very carefully with the Zap.

Perhaps a smear of "LOCTITE" would retain the wheel whilst not stopping it from operating ?

Are you sure? It is impossible to split the taigen sprochet and iddler wheels, due to the bolt keeps them together.

Road wheel's Rad, no problems with sprockets.

When assembling my PZ4s suspension instead of using the cheap and nasty supplied screws I tapped an M3 thread into the stub axle,
Then using a countersunk hex head M3 screw I pushed it through the inner wheel centre,
The countersunk head sitting firmly in place within the inner wheel seated on a nylon washer
The shank of the screw passing through the inner wheel centre and into the stub axle where I screwed it home,
Then pushing the outer wheel onto the "LOCTITE" lined inner wheel centre the job was done.
Now that was for a Panzer 4 but the wheel and stub axle layout on a Panzer 3 are similar.
You might like to wipe the thread of the M3 screw with "LOCTITE" before screwing it home so that it won't work loose.

Shit! Sorry, I read road wheels but for some reason I was thinking about the iddlers.

Yeah, I have seen a lot of people having problems with the road wheels splitting too. That is what stopped me from buying the taigen or mato lower hulls. It looks like I did good saving my money, because a couple of monts just saw this upgrade to the normal plastic hull, but you might be able to mod them for your suspension arms.

I thought the Taigen PzIII roadwheel had screws holding them together? Damn, now I have to go look!
