do we have a TIGER Expert handy
some of you know that I'm ex army R A O C ( that's the biggest Woolworths in the country)
or it was in my Day and the soldier would be lost with out us no gun no bullets no Tanks no food or clothes etc
another trade in the Rag and Oil Company was
Vehicle Specialist (VS)
they just wandered around looking at Tanks and other vehicles
and got them ready for the TA units who came to Germany to play soldiers for a week or two
as well as issue new Tanks etc once the REME had cleared them for service

there's a lot more to the operation than that
but I'm boring people I know
I often put a few photos on the army forum of my RC Toys etc and thought that I would let the gang see my 3 nice Tanks
one of the old boys ( He may be a VS),said that the TIGER 101 I have a is Hybrid,
a TIGER top and a Pershing bottom
So do we have an EXPERT who can please explain
I do realize that it is predominantly a toy Tank

Don't recon you need an expert to explain it , it's just a cheap Chinese toy they knock up millions of cheaply.

I am not an expert but you have hit the nail on the head Stewart.
Your tiger 101 is indeed a toy.
The second tiger you bought is a much more accurate representation of a tiger 1 and is a model.
There is also another hybrid tank available from Heng Long which is a cross between a tiger chassis and a Panther top hull and turret. This is a more expensive tank at around £135.
I have no idea why HL have produced such a hybrid.

Apparently , the story goes , H/L were so impressed with the sales of the Tiger 1 they rushed out a Panther sitting on top of a Tiger chassis to get stock on shelves ASAP.

thank you one and all like I said to my old soldier friend it's a Toy
but if Hen Long can make the bigger one look about right
surly they could have made thousands of the smaller scale in the correct style
Ps I do have the Pantiger also,
just my luck I suppose to have 2 never wases
it has a very bad wobble on the front drive cog or what ever you call it the chunky one on the right
I have tried to get the silver cap off but I think this is not one of them that you can do that with

The cap will come off , just insert a tiny flat blade screwdriver under it or a stanley knife blade and wiggle it around the cap.
It will pop right off.

thank you I did get it off in the end but could not see where the wheel is going oval I can see it when the wheel is driving with the track on
so it looks like I will have to remove the track and then see what's what

It's possible the gearbox inside is loose , ie , the screws holding it down might have stripped the plastic or just come slightly loose.
Means splitting her apart to have a proper look though.
Perfect tank to practice these skills.

I do like the M26A1 Pershing - that's the Korean War one with later M3A1 90mm gun.
