Hi just a quick question ( another one ) . I have made new exhausts for my Tiger1 will the smoke from a HL proportional smoke unit lift the hinged caps on the top of the pipes ? They are loose . And the smoke is fed streight to the top of the pipe towards the caps not into the bottom .
Update heres one exhaust , sorry picts not to good . The pipe angeled upwards is for smoke to go in and its the same pipe that exits the top under the hinged cover . Im open to addvice .
Update more picts still not sure the best way to get the caps to lift , thay are very loose but Im not convinced the smoke generator alone will lift them

????????
Thanks littletankman

If you made them out of really thin Brass and hooked up a decent size fan in place of the smoker piston you might get it to work, otherwise you're going to be disappointed...
Of course this will probably defeat the object as the extra flow will most likely help evaporate the oil, and dry the smoker up after a few minutes.

Hi Mart,
Yer I thought from the start they wouldnt lift . The caps are very thin steel , very thin . Oh well I will either take them of or make them semi open closed ?

Make them about half open - you've already gone to the trouble so why take them off? (unless they look bad)
I know a few guys have used a small computer fan in place of the piston in the smoke unit, but they've not tried to blow hard enough to lift a exhaust cap.
(And too be honest, the smoke output is a little lame compared with the real deal - white smoke only usually comes from a diesel making a cold start, and it sure doesn't trickle out of the exhaust like fog...)

Hi Mart,
Yer thats probaly the best way . Or could i fit a fan that could blow up from the bottom of the exhausts independently from the smoke unit ?

That might just work

, but the ducting will be a real pain >:(
There's also the danger that the over pressure will blow smoke back thru the smoke unit into the tank - so you'll get that "burst radiator effect" coming out of the cooling vents instead...

Hi Mart,
I have finished the exhausts today . But still unsure of the best way to lift the caps . It may be a case of doing what you said mate unless anyone on here can come up with an idea . Are my picts better a size now ?

Thers a mod vidio where the pump drive is replaced with the drive motor inserted into the housing with a three bladed propeler attached to motor it produces alot of pressure. This would lift the caps at acceleration. It is posted on this forum by tony.Smoke box mods, tricks and tips.Sax.
