A very logical discussion regarding the likely unit identification of what we know as KG Fehrmann.
The renowned 'F' not being for Fehrmann(who was not the gruppe leader) but for the training school that the machines came from.
Also makes a bit more sense why there were non-sequential numbers, the tanks that could go-were taken. The other vehicles in the sequence may not have been battleworthy.
Im still determined to do an F05 at some stage, and this info is good learning.
Tiger 111 also throwing up a plausible link to the Tiger Gruppe as it may have been in the repair shop(where we are told must have been handy as one of the F Gruppe Tigers was withdrawn for a new mantlet) when the unit was formed.

Certainly a lively discussion

Heres one..............
Clearly an 'early
clearly fitted with late steel wheels
very clearly has whats left of a PzIII/IV stowage bin !!
Seems to be in Poland ?

Appears there were hybrid/chuck-togethers all over the shop.
