I have had a disaster with the Stick on type decals supplied with my Heng Long Challenger 2. They wouldn't stick!
I would like to use water slide ones instead but can't find any suitable. Are they available please?

They are the stickie ones that I've got that won't stick. Is there a secret to getting them to stick and peeling off the sheet?

Yep clean the surface place the decal on rub down then leave it to stick. When I use these type of decal I leave them with the clear flim on for 10 to 15 minutes. This way has always work. Brian...

If You didn't previously coat the tank with matt clear (they don't like that for a bit, as I discovered with my Jagdpanther), the stickers should stick, but, as already stated, it takes at least 10 min to 15 min for the glue to be activated when applied.
Admittedly I prefer water slides too. HL stickers are super shiny- and water slides are not as clearly "stickers". They look more painted-on, if that makes any sense.
Water slides are better to be covered with matt-clear for acrylics, or with a fixative for water slides, otherwise running through a puddle, or in rain will make them fall off.

There is a way of applying Waterslide decals that pretty much guarantees a good result.
I use "MICROSCALE PRODUCTS" Using this method means you can apply the decal on a Matte paint surface with out any preparation other than ensuring the surface is grease free, clean and dry,
Using "MICRO-SET" paint the area with the fluid in large amounts, then after immersing the decal in warm water, carefully slide it into place, dab the excess "MICRO-SET" from the decal and then paint "MICRO-SOL" over the decal AND LEAVE IT ALONE,
This is very important because it will curl and scrunch up and in general look awful and yet the next day as if by magic you will have a decal that has been absorbed into the paint and looks perfect.
Both bottles look alike so I write a figure "1" on the cap of the Micro-Set bottle and "2" on the Micro-Sol in indelible ink to make sure I use them the right way round.
I buy mine from ---
www.wonderlandmodels.com
at £3.25 each bottle.

The best Waterslide decals in my opinion are from either "ELITE" or "ARCHERS",
E-Bay Amazon and ----
www.welshdragonmodels.co.uk
Are all good sources.
Peddinghaus are quite good but you have to be excessively careful with them or they are ruined.

Thanks everybody for your advice. The Microscale stuff sounds good. The dilemma I have is that I've got a Chally 2 tank with no decals as I messed up the originals. I prefer 'Waterslide' replacements but can't find any.
