Jake79's challenger

Post by Del »

Good morning folks
I popped over to Jakes yesterday to collect his chally for a bit of an internal rework.
I must say Jakes a top bloke and it was a pleasure to meet you buddy.
Anyway the plan is to fit an ibu, tpa, tarr smoker and a made to measure speaker box in the hull and a Clarke servo recoil unit in the turret.
After a bit of screwdriver action she was in pieces and after a quick this will go here and this will sit there we have a plan.theres plenty of room in this ol girl so the usual how am I gonna make all this fit isn't a problem.
I think the only tricky part will be sorting out a nice looking gator for the barrel but there's nothing like a good challenge.

Hey Del, wow that was quick mate she's in pieces already :) great to meet you too and thanks a lot for sorting this out for me. servo recoil may of ended up in the rubbish bin if I tried my hand at it, so much appreciated for taking the time to help out .

Cheers

Made a fair bit of progress yesterday, all the hull functions work and I've just got to reverse one channel so forwards isn't backwards but that can wait till the recoil servo needs setting up.
As there's no chally sound set on the ibu it's running the Abrahams sound set, hopefully someone more wav savvy than me may have made one we can get hold of.
I got some gardening to do but if things go according to plan I'm gonna cut the barrel and have a look at the recoil later.

Sounds all sorted, just got them from tankbears site.
Clarke recoil units in and the barrel slides back and forth nicely.looking for a gator for it.
Need to make the pipes to join the smoker and spend some time on the laptop later then she's nearly ready.

No luck in my garage looking for a gator but apart from that she's all back together singing, dancing and recoiling as she should.
I found a few faults along the way that the vendor had to have known about but I will let Jake know what was what when I deliver it back ( it's up to him if he wants to speak about the vendor etc on here).
Good fun to do was that and the whistling on the engine sound track sounds sweet as.
Thank you and good night
