Hi All,
This is a question for anyone who has built the hooben Elefant. Mine is coming along very well so far!!. Now the question. The rear most suspension bogey on both sides seam to sag so the back end is down. I've tried everything to elevate this but it's still down . So dose anyone know how the remedy this. Because this afternoon the house has turned blue with my swearing. So any advice would be wonderful. I hope someone can help!!!!!!. Brian...

Looking over my instructions for the build, I see that there is no allowance for stiffening the spring by drilling a new mounting hole as one would with a HL, No torsion leaf or Taigen\Torro bars. Looking at the mounting system, a stronger spring or soldering a Taigen type torsion bar to the rear suspensions under the gearbox seems to be the only way to go. All this is assuming that there was no gearbox swapout or other modification of the stock suspensions at the outset....

Yep your right there. I think it's because the gear boxes are so heavy and the Spring is too weak to support the weight. I tried again last night but no joy. It needs two stronger springs at the back but I don't have the stuff too make them. Brian...

The hooben suspension is pretty poor overall.

I know it sounds stupid but have you tried looking at other tank spares I know for some tanks you can buy upgraded springs for them, maybe one will fit. Another method might not be scale but on my Centurian bridge layer I had a similar problem and managed to get round it by fitting a metal Panzer IV spring/shock absorber unit behind the wheel and that stiffened the suspension up.

Might be the way to go! Unfortunately there's no room behind the suspension bogey to fit anything!.so I've been thinking of putting a limit block on the arm to stop it sagging at the moment there doesn't seam any other way round the problem. Brian...

There are some modifications you can do, Nigel has detailed them on rctankregiment. They work pretty well but I always found the springs too short and eventually the suspension arms would always come loose. This I why I got the Asiatam running gear.

Well I think I've done it . I put bump stops under the suspension limit stops. So now I have just over 2.1/2" floor to mudguard. It looks right now so I'm a happy bunny . Next up IBU2 PRO... Brian...
