RC Tank Warfare community hobby forum

It has been 40 years between the Tamiya MRC 1/16 M4 Sherman R/C I pieced together in 1976 and
the Tamiya 1/16 full option kit I just finished.
If I had found this site prior to the two weeks it took me to complete the Sherman... well I probably would
have never finished the model.
Why? Because of the wonderful craftsmen that have contributed here with their builds.

Everything works with my finished product but lacks the theme of all of the beautiful tanks that
many of you have built.

I have no experience with weathering or the history of a specific M4. You guys are gonna kill me but
my theme was "S.W.A.T.
Tripple black.
I can't put up the photos without knowing that I will be in trouble because their is no WWII
look.
However.... everything works just fine and I am probably going to put together the Leo 2A6. Tamiya for sure.
Haven't commited yet.
I just got out of the hospital for three months (flu shot reaction called Gullian Barre)
The one thing I can do is use my hands and my mind. Building the 2a6 and getting it right doesn't
require my legs.

GBS got me in 2011. I was lucky it only paralysed the lower half of my body and was diagnosed before it got too got to the rest of me.
I had 6 months using a wheelchair, lots of physiotherapies and being taught to walk again, that's all behind me now.
Positive thinking and it's onwards and upwards every day.

Your first Tamiya Sherman is it the one with the rubber pads on the tracks and controlled by the umbilical cord.

We like photos of models any theme, it's your model, so what grabs you is the important thing, just enjoy your playtime.

Sir, there is no bar to theme or genre..............if its good enough for you to want to build it- its good enough to post pictures
In fact, now you have given up that you have a Leo as well, you can just jolly well post pics of them both !!
Tough luck getting that reaction, I myself dont do shots(well not the needle kind) as I prefer to get it, and get rid of it the usual way

I will put up some photos on the "show off" forum.
The bad thing about gloss black is that it really shows any dust.
The M4 I built in 1976 was a two channel, servo ran, no sounds, no turret/main gun movement. No MG
sound or flash. No lights if I remember correctly.
The tracks had to be assembled using hundreds of parts.
The new kit comes with tracks already put together.

Unfortunately the early tank burned up in a fire at the local hobby shop where it was on display.

The movie "Fury" pegged my interest, so I thought I was going to watch it last night and the movie was
called something like Angeline's Fury."
Made in 2014 with 1.5 stars.
Lots of M4/Panther action but the story was a hokey "damsel in distress" thing.
