Atak Zimmerit....good or bad?

I have a KT on my workbench with a Porsche turret. This design was the 'early version, only around 50 were built, and all of them with the possible exception of 1 had zimmerit. Atak do a Tamiya kit for the Porsche design which would be the easy route. It seems that the kit is good quality, and easy to apply, can anyone confirm that it is the way to go?

Mine is the Atek kit for the Henchel turret and it's a nice kit but the rear bulkhead doesn't line up very well.

ive used the attak zimm kits and i think they are very good. i used them on my panther ausf A and used the attak winter canvas replica in resin/ barrel muzzle cover and winter mg cover on my Tiger 1.

On the tiger 1 the only attak was the muzzle and mg resin canvas winter covers. The side armour and hull and turret were the rubber sheet taigen zimm kit

Im not sure how the Ataz Zimmerit is, but it looks like some stickers. It may look great, but for me is losing big part of the fun.

I enjoyed making my own zimmerit to my Panzer IV with white milliput. It is more personal and unique. I think is like buying a painted tank. It may look great, it might be way better than what I can do, but is not done by me...

It's made of very finely cast resin. I've done Zim with putty by hand before and found no enjoyment in it, so for me it's the way to go, but as they say...your mileage may vary.

Tom, ditto. I tried to do my own zimmeret but couldn't get the front of my KT to look decent, gave up and bought an Atek kit.

Every build, I begin by researching the particular Tank I shall be developing.
I always avoid any Tank that wears a Zimmeritt overcoat,
My thinking is that I build Tanks as a Hobby, a pleasant way of passing time, :lolno:
After reading and viewing over the years the many and varied methods used to apply Zimmeritt I long ago drew the conclusion that it is closer to "WORK" than it is to a "HOBBY".
So thanks but no thanks.
Shaun.
