Heng Long Flash unit in a WWI tank

Hello all. I am building a WWI tank. It is a modified Tamiya with two of their motors and Heng Long radio gear. The build is fairly simple and everything fits into the compact hull. I have sorted out how to do the MG flash to the three Lewis guns. They will all flash at the same time, but as the viewer can only see one of them at a time, this is not a problem. I am having a problem with the hooking up of a Heng Long high intensity flasher for the canon. As it is going into a turret-less WWI tank I do not have any of the usual recoil units, etc., that go with this unit. I just need to operate it from the 2.4 GHz receiver. I have been able to get a Bang - Flash, but ideally want a Flash - Bang but would put up with the two being simultaneous. I have read various other posts so If all else fails I could wire up a LED. Is there anyone out there who has sorted this problem? I might sound like I know what I am doing with this, but I do not. I will not be offended at all if you make your suggestions as if I know nothing!
