Has anybody had any experience with the full metal IR Mato Sherman tank destroyer. Is it good quality? Value for money? Or should I buy the Tamiya M4 (the Super Sherman is silly money).
Thank you.

I've got one (m36) and quite afew Tamiya Sherman's (the super Sherman can be found cheap) the matos good but it's achillies heel is that on rough terrain the wheels can bind as there are no bushings so it's aluminium on aluminium. There really need bushings adding eventually. Aside from that they're very nice. Running inside should be an issue, it's on dirt where little fines get between the shaft and wheel where the issues come

I have one and it was in real rough shape when I got it.
1 suspension bogie was broken off the right side, MATO sent me 2 spares 1 right and 1 left. Almost every screw was either cross threaded or stripped. The turret bottom piece had 2 of the 4 screws broken but the heads crazy glued on so it looked like they were doing something.
MATO apologized and agreed that they need to do better quality control. Now are they? I couldn't tell you, I hope they are but who knows?
What I can tell you is that I was damn disappointed in the build quality of my M36 for a $700 tank. MATO did their best to help make it right but it just sucked.

Hi Tom,
Thank you for this information. Can you tell me please where the Super Sherman can be found cheaper. £1,000 is a joke.

If you're going the super Sherman route there are a couple of fair cheap mods that will make it into an accurate m51, namely proper stowage bins, engine deck and Jerry can holders from shape ways. Woz has printed them for me in the past and they're abit cheaper than going via the shape ways shop.

Hi Jake,
I am fairly new to this RC tank lark but it is very addictive. I have never bought from abroad. Is it just the same as buying on eBay in the UK? Will the kit be identical to the ones available in the UK and do they just take the money through PayPal in the same way? Are there any hidden costs?
Thank you for your help
