Ok so with any smoking unit will it only take the smoke juice only sold in the little bottles or can i put something else in there like vape juice which i pressume is the same as the oil dedicated for the smoke unit plus a flavor. So in other words will it be ok of i put vape juice in the smker unit instead of its normal oil?

I use baby oil (parafin) two euros per liter. It lasts for decades.

If you go to -----------
http://www.petersspares.com
and click on "MEGA-STEAM" the smoke oil comes in different smells in a "Dropper" fitted bottle,
It is approved for use in the "TARR" smoker range.
Shaun.

On a semi-related note, how much smoker fluid should be in the smoker? I've got a Tarr Mk1 with Mega-Steam fluid and the output is pretty poor. Even running the unit at full throttle for five minutes didn't improve things much.

I made a little saddle out of wire to hold the wick closer to the heater, but haven't tested it to see if it's made an improvement yet.

What board do you have the TARR hooked up to?

You're the only person I've heard have a problem with a TARR smoker, let's see if we can help you.

I usually go about half..it can be as full as not to flood the resistor. But as long as it doesn't run dry. I also got the wick in better contact on one of mine but what I found really is best is putting a little step up voltage regulator to the heat element leads..that way you can dial up the smoke output. I like about 8.5 volts. It also keeps the voltage steady as the battery

I never ended that sentence lol...as the battery gets weaker..the voltage is regulated:)

Got it running off an IBU2. It definitely warms up and smokes, but the output is very thin (to the point that it's nearly invisible).

Sounds like that might help, I assume the IBU would only be pushing out the same 7.2 V that it's getting in. I can't see any obvious voltage regulation on the board itself.

If no smoke comes out and the fan is running it is most likely a bad electrical connection..trace wires etc.
I do like the voltage step up as the TARR is super durable and you can crank it up with no problem to that resistor. It also
lets you tweak the smoke volume/fan speed. I also run an acoustic smoker and it adds another layer of adjustment.
