Hope this is the correct board, if not please move.
I want to speed up my hl leo2a6 can this be achieved by by just replacing the motors or will I need to change my gear box from a 4:1 to something different?
I would prefer to keep some torque if I can.

You can fit 480 speed motors which will give better torque and speed. Just make sure you go for 2.3mm diameter shaft versions then you can use same pinion gear (need a pinion puller)

I generally upgrade all my motors and found JP speed 400 & 480 are the best you can buy for the price. I normally buy from this place and their never let me down.

Then if you still want more speed depending on what electronics your running you can increase battery voltage. I tend to use 11.1v LiPo in my modern tanks

Thank you. Currently running the stock electronics. I am currently thinking about upgrading to a Clark tk22.

Stock electronics probably not possible and the TK22 people have reported damaging them using a fully charged 7.4v LiPo battery so I wouldn’t risk it.
