Video 1 (of 2) on the DKLM-RC New Propulsion dynamics steel gearbox for 1/16 RC tanks .
Installed in my Torro Jagdtiger.

How does it get hooked up to an IBU when it has only 1 drive motor but the board has outputs for 2?

How does the other motor for the clutch steering get hooked up to the IBU board?

The unit looks really cool but how does it work?

It's the same at the Tamiya leopard 2, one motor for forward drive one for steering. All the was required for the ibu to support it is change the channel mixing.

No idea about the Tamiya Leopard 2, sorry.

So the board needs to be reprogrammed? Hmmmmm..... the last time I tried to reprogram a board it wound up in the for sale section.

Plenty of info and a useful video on YouTube explaining how they work. It's changing a setting via the program software, not updating the firmware as you attempted to do.

And yes you need electronics which can control this style of gearbox. IBU3 with firmware v0.12 has the ability to switch between regular 2 gearbox drive and the above system, obviously the Tamiya Leo2 electronics can control there own gearbox but not regular 2 gearbox drive (unless others can confirm otherwise). And the Clark TK24 has ability to control both types but I’m not certain how it does it.

This type of gearboxes is definitelly the way to go. Sadly they are too expensive for my budget, but hope more sellers make cheaper versions.

IBU3 and CLARK TK 24 Board . Both is smooth in use .

tank is just about 7kg fully loaded
