Paint Job & Upgrades

Post by Challenger2Pete »

Afternoon All, hope this is in the right section or if not can it be moved to the right one please??

Ok Awaiting delivery of my Challenger 2 which shall arrive in 'Desert Sand' now i'm either looking to do a complete new paint job or to leave as & just weather it or to British Army Battle Green & Black so if someone could point me in the direction of who to purchase the paint from & also is it better laying down the green first then over spraying the black? for the 'camo' & is the re any special way to do the shapes?

Also looking to upgrade to metal tracks do I have to change ALL the wheels & how hard is it to do?

Many Thanks
Challenger 2 Pete

Hi
As far as paint goes it would be better to spray overall green first, only a third of the camouflage pattern would be black, paint wise it's down to people's own preference, I've always stuck with Humbrol acrylics as they are easy to get them round here, however when I done my first Chally I found it hard to find a colour match so I ended up using Tamiya XF61 which is virtually identical to the stock colour

Can't make any comments on upgrades as all I changed was the sprockets & mine are fitted with DKLM ones

Here's a picy of my BATUS Chally
