Drink drive Jagdpanther muzzle brake

After drinking too much cider I decided to drive my JP into my garden wall and hence shattered the plastic muzzle brake.
I got the lovely Dominique at rctank.de to send me a beautiful brass replacement but I have a slight problem. The metal barrel is threaded with an outside diameter of 6.5mm whilst the unthreaded inside diameter of the muzzle brake is 8mm.
I don't want the hassle of retuning it etc. so I has hoping one of you Yoda's have any idea of a fix please.

My suggestion would be to get some styrene tube with od of 8mm and inside dia 6mm, insert styrene tube into muzzle brake (and glue with superglue or similar) and gently screw onto the barrel. It should self-thread. Alternatively screw the styrene tube to the barrel and then superglue to the brake whichever is easiest. Hope that helps.  Alwyn

;D A cheap fix , wind some paper strip around the barrel tip , fix with superglue and round it off with a file then attach the muzzle brake ?
