Hello all, I have purchased a gas cylinder mechanism with the idea of making my Heng Long tiger 1 gas powered. I have looked around and cannot find any tutorials on how to do so, so I was wondering if anyone here had any ideas?

Ryan, Where are you in the world ? I ask because if you are in the UK then upgrading the "Airsoft" mechanism could bring you into conflict with the law.
The regulations on air powered weapon's is if you will forgive the mixed metaphor a minefield.

I am in the UK, and as far as I am aware, many conversions have been donr and are legal, otherwise I wouldn't do this.

I should rather say that it is a CO2 bike pump that I have bought for it. It is a twist nozzle, not a push button one.

You might find this interesting. It's possible to beef the airsoft unit up without recourse to CO2. Someone on this site (in 2011) even made a unit that fired black-powder through the barrel of a KT... if hooked on that idea, follow this thread for that one:

Trawling the net, and the back pages here, you'll find lots of references to uprated/upgraded airsoft. Some suggest using a VS airsoft unit,as it's claimed to be more powerful than the HL type, despite coming from smaller scale tanks.
Gas powered guns in 1/16 scale tanks are nothing new. I'll post a few threads when I recall where I saw them last... Jarndice is correct, of course, in that the power output of airsoft systems is strictly limited and regulated in the UK..but if you're a responsible person, who cares anyway?

Hmm, something stirring in the aged memory synapses..ah, yes, it was a link to a pioneering spirit in RC tank ballistics who called himself 'Creepingdeath'. He experimented with gas units in 1/16 scale tigers, and enabled them to fire paintballs too. You'll find more references to him if you delve into the 'search' box here.
