Metal boggies and wheels w/ rubber tires

Post by BarryC »

Hi guys,

Is there a set of metal boggies and wheels with rubber tires made for the HL Sherman? I have found the Mato and Taigen but assume they are for their tanks.

TIA,
Barry

From what I've found on all my other tanks Taigen parts fit H/L tanks perfectly however I'm sure a Sherman expert will be able to confirm what you're asking.

Thanks Raminator,

I saw them but each wheel does do not appear to be individually sprung like the Mato. I have also been unable to determine that the Taigen ones are sprung like the Mato either.

Cheers,
Barry

I assume that these are the ones you are referring to. Mato double sprung? I have these on a Mato Sherman Hull, they slot straight in. As long as the Taigen and HL mounts are the same, with the two screw clamp on the inside, then they should fit ok.

Yep Rob those are the ones. How well does the spring action work?

According to MichaelC there are not a direct replacement for the HL and do requiring engineering to get them to fit.

Thanks,
Barry

They work like a dream to be honest, I can push down as hard as I want on the upper hull and it doesn't move at all, but the road wheels float over bumps when they hit anything from underneath.

Sounds like the best Sherman boggies available.

I wonder how sound I could make the Mato metal lower after cutting it up to stretch to the Firefly length?
