Just brought this up in another topic but wanted to mention it on it's own. Somebody else did this and it works really well..run the drive shafts in a drill on high speed for a few min in both directions. That dry Teflon spray is also great as it does a super job lubricating and has no spin off effect..so no need to cover the gears etc. Plus dirt and grim don't adhere to the gears as they do when they are full of grease.

Very cool. I always make a cover just in case water gets in so it won't be thrown onto the electronics.

I've never used dry lube on the gearboxes, do you use it for just the break in period or is that your everyday gearbox lube?

DuPont Teflon Non-Stick Dry-Film Lubricant -is the product and I use it instead of grease as it coats all the surfaces with teflon so it works on anything you would use oil/ grease on..also people use it when the temp is really cold as no freezing or sticking.

In the UK "WD 40" make a product available from "HALFORDS/MAPLINS" it is called ---
"WD 40 Specialist Anti-Friction Dry PTFE Lubricant"
It comes in 250 ml aerosol cans for £4.99, BUT do be sure you are getting the right product as they make a similarly named but quite different item

Thanks Shaun. I've used WD 40 for years (not as a lubricant) it's more of a solvent. I didn't know they made a dry lube.
