MATORRO JAGDTIGER CONVERSION

This section is for builds that are not strictly Tamiya or Heng Long. For instance, replacing the electronics from a WSN or Matorro, or even a scratch-build.

Hello, on my Kingtiger->Jagdtiger conversion, I lenghtened the hull 16mm too. But I found the gap between the last road wheel and the idler wheel is now too large, it looks more like the Porsche set up.

Here is my 160mm lengthened hull (4 more track links on each side).

The Torro version, with the same too big gap.

Porsche set up: large gap.

Henschel set up, small gap.

Out of interest does anyone have a Torro jagdtiger that they could measure the bottom of the lower hull and length of fighting compartment ?

I have had access to a henschel Tamiya JT over this weekend.
The gap is the same large appearing one .
I sat my HL King tiger next to it and 16mm will be just right.
I think the lower photo of the JT on a flat car has the rear suspension compressed, thus closing the gap.
After driving Kens machine around, it was a hell of a thing to run over trenches as the barrel dug in on the opposite bank !!!
I imagine in certain situations that could have happened in real life if you don't pay attention .

Rear door hinges completed.
Used a bit of left over Schurzen sprue from my Pig-StuG III.
Filed the corners off so as to allow slight interference when they are being opened, so they satay where they are left.
Hit the hinge wings with a 0.5mm drill and slid a dress making pin into place.
Bent the tail of the pin over at the bottom and nicked the end off with small side cutters.
Not exactly historically correct, but the stuffn doors will stay put ;)

Plan to drill the moulded sockets into the rear plate and use the same pins to add strength to retain the doors.
No sure why I need them to open, but I'm glad I did it ! :eh:

Drivers and radio/MG hatches next.

I'll measure it when I get home.

Herman, you want me to pull off the track, remove the drive sprocket, idler tensioner and measure from the center of the gearbox screw hole to the center of the hole for the idler adjuster?

Oh christ no mate !

just a ruler from centre to centre will do.
a mm or two wont matter, its more as a confirmation of the 16mm difference really.
