Hi All
So my Panzer III has decided to pull to the left for no apparent reason, I've checked everything and I'm stumped ..I've moved the trim as far as it go's and only makes a little difference...There's one thing I have noticed I don't know if it makes any difference is that on the left side the idler wheel is maybe a mm further out than the right side..the tracks to are quite tight, I've no spare links to try out to see if that could be it..the PIII is running metal tracks wheels, metal hull, brass gears Ibu 2.
Cheers
Jake

Can you adjust the idler so the tracks aren't so tight?

Yes mate I tried that, hardly made any difference to tracks and the tank still veering off to the left.

Good point on the motors..Run it up on block to see if all running free and then the motor switch is a good idea to try.
On my Taigen Panther the rear track was slightly hitting the upper plastic (manuf error) but enough to create drag and heat up one motors until I eliminated the issue. Also sometimes things can get into a track and cause it to bind.

Also take a look at the track pins, I have had this problem when one starts to work free.

Wibbly's suggestion is certainly one to check out,
Just about any open pin track can produce this problem,
In the real world the T34 suffered a similar problem, which was solved by the factory bulging out an area of the hull so that when the track went past this point any track pin coming free would be pushed home, problem solved and without exposing the crew to hazard by having to get out and tighten or replace the pins.

Seems like something is binding on the left track? Does that motor get a bit warmer when you run it? You can take tracks off
wire brush them clean..oil joints up and when they are off.. run the motors/gearbox free and check if they run the same etc.
