Banzai hobby shout out

Hey folks, a good news vendor story. I had issues with the flash unit and the multifunction unit, first the flash failed then the Dmd. I've had Tamiya tanks since 2010 and found the electrics very reliable with the exception of the kv-1 mfu. Everyone of these I've had has failed, three so far, so possibly a bad batch. Anyway I digress. The issue was bought up with banzai and they told me to return it. After a week replacements were on their way back to me. There was a slight cloud, banzai told me that Tamiya wouldn't admit manufacturing fault so banzai had to replace at their cost.

It's good to hear that there are honourable dealers out there, and the added bonus is that when customers highlight great service they let other people know. As to why Tamiya wouldn't support their own product is anyone's guess, these units must only cost a few pounds to manufacture, so the cost to them of replacing one is minimal. If anyone has a problem with Clark, IBU or Elmod it gets fixed, and fast, so why can't the largest manufacturer on the planet do the same?

A friend od mine had issue With is-2 dmd/mfu. The 'statick, ore hizz noise from the tamiya unit's are known, but the one he got With the IS-2 was bad. So Banzai replaced it no cost, but he alos was told that the units were not covered by tamiya ...

I've also had my other faulty kv-1 mfu sent back to Tamiya USA who do seem to replace the units at their cost (slightly ironic as this unit is a replacement for one that had previously failed!).

Was this unit purchased from Bonzai also or was it purchased in the USA. I've heard that Tamiya USA will not replace a unit if it was not purchased in the USA. I've purchased four tanks from Banzai and sweat bullets each time hoping all will be good. Good to know they helped you out.

The original unit was purchased from Jason's store and I might have been lucky it was replaced, however the one that was sent back this time is a USA one so shouldn't have an issue!
