Im about to poen the port, and I wanted to ask you guys what you think the best way to do it is?

I was going to use a craft knife and slowly score through the plastic, but if anyone can recommend a better way it would be appreciated.

Im thinking of using a bit of clear perspex to make the bulletproof glass in the port, and maybe sticking an LED in there to simulate the internal lighting.

Would the Germans have used red lighting in their tanks at night?

If your lucky, the glacis plate might just be tacked glued when it was assembled and with care it will prize off. I then used a craft knife to cut the two sections out. Time consuming and watch your fingers !! To give it extra support I used styrene strip and constructed an inner frame work and the two rails. I'm not sure about the red lighting ?  I like the idea of the BP glass !

Nice work in those pics. It wasnt hard getting the front plate off my HL Tiger, just a thin flat head screw driver behind it and off it popped. I did have the advantage of not needing it for my Sturmtiger so any damage didnt matter. The red internal lighting sounds like a good idea too.

I always thought in the film Saving Private Ryan when Tom Hanks runs upto the Tiger and sprays his Thompson into the drivers window... wouldnt he get hit by his own rickochet's? Its those damn faux T34 -Tigers they used ::)

I assume they used red night lighting, though i've also heard they used blue too.

I was thinking of just a subtle light from inside, add an extra touch of life to the model.
