I was just looking at "MATO'S" Full metal Tiger 1 and I was disappointed that at a few pennies short of £700 it still has the WRONG aerial stowage tube in place on the left flank. Which makes me ask what else will I find wrong if I spend my hard earned on one ?
Shaun.

It can be had for a lot less than that, however I don't believe it's been retooled so it will probably have all the HL inaccuracies and still no torsion bars

The Mato all metal Tiger is literally a copy of the Heng Long Tiger but in metal, so all the warts are carry over, including all the inaccuracies on the upper, and the rudimentary swing arm suspension in the lower.

So it amounts to buying a HENG LONG ABS/Plastic Tiger 1 and upgrading it to what it should be for a total of £ 250 including the Taigen Torsion bar suspended metal Hull,
Or because it is all metal you are stuck with a MATO Tiger 1 in Metal for £700 which because it is Metal is to much like hard work to fix. Not what I would want as a shelf queen and certainly no bargain.

Shaun,
I had a Mato Tiger lower before they came out with the all metal upper to go with it, and the lower is so bad that I have to give it away. The casting is bad and the suspension/axles are all crocked and won't run smoothly. The Taigen metal chassis with torsion bar suspension is the right way to go if you don't fancy Tamiya pricing.

I'm with Michael on this, I have the all metal Mato hull. It rolls horribly , going to take some serious work to fix the wobbles. I would get a Taigen

Guys,
I plan to have an all metal tank to display in my office. Metal looks mighty, you know. I would run it once a while when have time. Tiger I is one of the most famous tank during WWII, so it's my favorite. Looks like I don't have much choice I want an all metal tank. A Mato Tiger I RTR costs roughly $750 on taobao.com. What would you suggest?

Don't waste your money on a Mato all metal Tiger. You will be very disappointed with it.

The source where I can get is China where transportation is "free" for me. From other places, though the cost is only $249, the shipping costs would make it up to $500, maybe.

Would you be more specific how it is a waste of money, and, if not the Tiger, would a Mato Panzer III be a nice buy?
