Sherman III Trowbridge

Do any of you more knowledgeable guys out there know if this line drawing of Trowbridge is correct or not? I'm not too convinced that the late big hatch production model was ever painted in the desert colours, but I'm sure someone will put me right on this
My guess is that its from the Italian theatre,
if its right
I'm not a rivet counter, but I do like to get the basics right if I can

I guessed it was the wrong model. That knocks that on the head for a big hatch Sherman III. A British big hatch 75mm is going to the basis for my next project so I'm open to suggestions lads.

To be honest, I don't think the British had any large hatch 75's, although I may be wrong. I think the US kept the m4a3's and the m4a2's were either sent to the Soviets or the USMC in the Pacific..

Forgive this "Sherman Heathen" but as a desert coloured machine, was the allied Africa yellow anywhere near the German equivalent?
Reason I ask is during research into the Malta Invasion tanks planned by the Germans, some of the allied vehicles were painted in a really complex "stone wall" pattern.
As these pictures were in black & white, its hard to tell how the concept might have worked, but looks amazing.
Trucks, jeeps, Quads, Tanks, all done in this crazy stone wall get-up.
I also found out that MIG has a DAK yellow wash, which is going to be on my hit list for my Pz IV.

Light Stone No. 61 might be the one you're after, Herman. It's not all that dissimilar from Gelbbraun 8020.
I know what you mean though, it's a very striking camouflage pattern. I think it looks great.

Frank, I believe you are right about the big hatch M4A2 as it seems the Russians had most of them if they wernt in the Pacific. A pause for thought is in order at this point as a Mato M4A1/76 has just arisen out of the blue for me
I do like those desert colours guys; very impressive indeed, especially on the Bedford
I will use the desert colours one day on a cut & shut
