Sherman or Bulldog

So, I'm going to buy a rc tank this year, and since I live in Finland, tanks aren't that popular. So, I like the Sherman, so should I get the Heng Long M4A3 105mm version 3, (btw, what does S&S mean) or should I get the Heng Long Walker Bulldog, since it actually has parts available for it here in Finland. With the Sherman, I would struggle with parts. So, which one should I go with? Thanks in advance.

I like the Sherman so much I have three. My Heng Long Sherman was one of my first tanks and it's still going strong after two years. My latest is my Tamiya Sherman. The only complaint I have with the Heng Long is that the head lights flash in cadence with the machine gun and that is very annoying. S&S stands for SMOKE and SOUND. Good luck with your choice.

Kas, Good morning,
The Walker is a great tank, smooth runner if you get one with a few upgrades built in. I agree with Jtracks tho' about the Sherman. It is one of Heng Long's finest tanks in terms of looks and durability. It's possible to get tons of update parts from Mato and Tamiya and other aftermarket brands like Schumo and really make a lot of different variants of the machine. So I recommend the Sherman as well. ( if you can afford it right off the bat, get the Taigen metal version of the tank. It is top drawer.)
regards,
Painless

Thanks for the advice. I think I will get a Sherman, and work on it, because, well I like it, and if I work on it, I'll just like it more and more. I have no idea how I didn't think about S&S meaning smoke and sound. Painless, that Sherman is beautiful. Thanks to both of you!

Totally agree, a Sherman is an excellent first tank, and the accessory list is endless. If you decide to get a Bulldog later then you always have that option open to you. :P

I'm relatively new to R/C myself and already I have two Sherman's, a stock Heng Long 105mm and a firefly project, with a third planned. Being an avid Sherman fan, I would say Sherman, but if parts are a problem, maybe the Bulldog is the better introduction?

If you Google 'Walker Bulldog/Vietnam', you will have plenty of idea's to base it on as the south Vietnamese army used them in action and they look very much like US vehicles. I'm going to be tempted to get a Bulldog myself later on, and maybe a Pershing and a................................. :D

Biggest thing against the M41 is that it is out of scale (to large as the unit was designed around the HL M26) and although the turret is 1/16 it has many errors that need to be corrected.
I agree with everyone else that the Sherman has proved to be as reliable and so many variants of it can be built that it would be a better choice.

So, how did Wittmann meet his end? A Canadian stock 75mm Sherman :D That'll learn him. ;)
