well here i am sat in sunny burnham on sea .. in between the rain drops .....

and yep the bank holiday weekend is comeing  .. it problerly means a trip to the garden center ... ho joy

...but the good news .. is there is a big market at one of the holiday camps on BH monday .. and i have a chap there that sales toys and he has always got a pile of hl tanks and £35 so i will be happy ......

anyway ... i was looking thru the sideboard late last night actualy looking for a pencil sharpener ... as to got to the bottom draw my attention was grabbed by
a shiny gold object crammed in the back corner ..i rummaged a bit more and hmmmm a gold christmas ball .. from the tree! and in fact .. two were to be found
of different sizes ....

i plucked them out and then parked my bottom in front of the tv .... no i dont have a cross dresser in my house ....just that flat screen thing top of the range
shows ..crap all ...... anyway .... back to the golden balls !

i got me an idea ..... so out come the ruller ...nope that did not work .. so the aldi vernier guage was summoned .. and the measureing began

any one with a spark of imagineering ... have any idea as to what i am going to do with one of them ? 

All I can think of is a song about the ex leader of wartime Germany have only one of the said articles.

but should realy say that the smallest ball is 42mm anf the large one id 55mm ... a bit too big for a search light ... maybe ...

Is it scale models of balloons used by German heavy field artillary to judge wind direction and speed.
Its just what I need To go with my my 1/15 88mm and 150mm field guns............
