For what I can offer, have you used hairspray on the surface ?
if not, its still ok.
Spray it with some sort of hairspray and let it cure.
Go again with the white wash- very thinned, and let that cure.
then get to work with the stiff brush dampened with a bit of water........
scrape off all you want, she'll be right

Also a good option, all comes down to how you want it to look...............

Just wondering - if you after a tank with snow on it, in which case I would go with cannedheat's suggestion, or snow camouflage as applied in the field, in which case Herman's suggestion would be the best option.

Two ways of doing it really. One is winter camo, the other is snow on summer camo.

The winter camo was just whitewash plastered very messily all over the tank. So use a sponge dipped in diluted off white paint (white will be too white) and just drag it vertically down all of the surfaces, streaks won't matter as the real ones had them. You can use white and just add varying drops of grey to random applications, this will give it a bit of shading. A few dark grey streaks will work wonders.

Snow on a tank is a bit of a different ballgame, modelling snow is probably the best bet, the stuff the railway guys use.

Winter Tigers always look really grubby.
