Spot on.

Dave comes to the Grantham meets on occasion. Both Dave and his wife are very nice people.

The big difference with Forgebear (Dave) and Tankbear (Ian, who is also a good guy to deal with) is that they enjoy the hobby too and dont just trade the parts. So they know exactly what they are talking about. Not to discredit any other suppliers.

There is a HUGE difference between someone who just sells things and someone who is also an enthusiast. Then you really are treated as they would want to be because they use the same products they sell. Makes a big difference.

Ordered my Taigen Tiger 1 from him and found Dave helpful throughout the deciding process and finally the purchase. Best service I have ever had, can't rate him highly enough.

I just ordered some small items from Dave, like photo etch and an LED notek light and some .30 cal MGs, and I found that the savings on the items is significant over what I'd pay in the states (import costs, maybe? I just know Taigen parts are cheaper from Dave than even Imex) and the shipping was actually less than it would have been from most of the vendors over here. I still don't know how long it will take to get here, but at prices like this I'll be OK with anything up to about two weeks.

So for all my fellow Yanks, when you need light weight stuff, crazy as it sounds, it might actually be cheaper in the long run to get the stuff from Dave, not to mention that he's one of us. (OH NO! Clint Eastwood movie flashback!! That guy on the train in Unforgiven, saying to English Bob, "Not bad ... for a John Bull". @) :haha: 8) )

Oh yeah, I also got an extra discount for being so good looking, but I'm not sure Dave does that for everyone. You ugli cats might be hit. @) @) @)
