I have it all set up and servo recoil works , but plugging in the servo for the elevation , nothing happens ? Any ideas? Cheers

Clark board by default does not have servo elevation enabled. You will need to go into programming mode and change it. Do you have the remote and also the jumper to put it into programming mode ? If you do then go into programming mode, and press the POWER button until the LED flashes 4 times. Now you are in servo elevation mode and you can save the setting.

You might find the Clark servo elevation mode has a very limited range. I usually end up mapping the servo to a open channel and control it directly with the radio.

Thanks Michael, I do have the remote and I think the jumper? Will have to read up
On it. Was kinda wishing I wouldn't have to program it.

I really have no idea how the whole radio control thing works just learning as I go. So far I have both surprised and driven myself nuts with it

I don't think system has an open channel. I don't mind if it doesn't move much just want it to move

Any suggestions for a good book or web site that explains the basics and what all the terms and parts relating to rc are? I really know nothing so simple is best.

I wish there was a club in the area I could join and learn from.

Mark, I have to say both the makers of these products and the makers of the products that use them are losing massive selling opportunity's
by not producing equipment that literally anyone could use straight from the box,
I can use a Multi-oven, an automobile, I can even send an E-Mail!! So why does getting an R/C 1/16 Tank to function correctly have to be on the same level as applied rocket science ??

I have never lost a control board yet What am I saying? Where's a piece of wood when you need it ?
But I can easily imagine the look on a parents face on the morning of the 25th when he/she see's smoke coming out of £250 worth of present

I hear ya! Ordered a recoil unit. Was mostly assembled , but would it have killed them to include a tip sheet to help? thankfully this forum exists!

Anyway, you need to have the programming/Hit LED plug in, put the jumper into J2 (Inside/top two pins) which is the servo recoil connector. When you power up the board you are in programming mode. Then you press the POWER button on the remote until it flashes 4 times. Power down the tank, unplug the jumper and out the servo recoil plug back in. Elevation servo is J4 which is next to the servo recoil connector.

Thank you Michael, I have to get the jumper and the hit led (may have that)
then I will give it a shot.
