Hi, I've airbrushed in tamiya acrylics and was wondering if pledge multi-surface wax (current incarnation not an old one) is still a suitable varnish option before i attempt to wash effect? What do you clean the airbrush with after?

thanks in advance

nick

What does it list as the ingredients? I use acrylic floor polish before decals, then another light coat after decals then washes and detailing no problem. Makes my tanks smell like apples! Clean up is just water.

Hmmm... let me go home tonight and look at what mine says. There is no mention of acrylic at all but maybe that's the chemicals. You could do a test on the bottom of your tank if you can't wait... :-)

Mine is never white. It comes through the airbrush clear...

Glad to hear it Nick tank.

Hey Eastern,

The answer is $$$ I paid $4.00 for a bottle that has lasted me 3 years. I have 1/2 a bottle left and I have done roughly 20 tanks in that time) If works beautifully to seal tanks between paint and decal and decal and weathering steps. Really excellent to use before a black pin wash as it accelerates the capillary action and makes it run smooth around all little bolts, edges, corners, etc..

When I am done of course the vehicle get a flat lacquer coat but it's a much cheaper way to seal it in between layers before final finish... :-)
