I am looking for a servo that can fit inside a 14mm diameter, 3cm long tube. The shaft and armature will be outside said tube. Any ideas?

A servo to fit inside a 14mm diameter tube? That is damn small. I don’t know of any smaller than the usual micro servos.

Could you dismantle a micro servo and mount the motor in the tube and gears on the end and the electronics either in tube or elsewhere.

Or maybe see if you can find a super small motor and gearbox (usually from china on ebay) that will fit the tube then butcher the electronics from a micro servo to control it.

Tankbear: is that possible? I reckon putting the gearing back together and making sure it all works without getting loose is the problem.

Basically, wot I need is a motor of sorts that will raise/lower a hook with the press of a button which is an on/off switch. Press button and the hook goes up and down, up and down on its pivot. Press button off and it returns to the down position and stays there until button is pressed on again. It needs to fit in that 14.5mm diameter x 3.5cm long tube. I will connect it to the vacant 7th channel on the receiver, regardless of the electronics board I am using (currently IBU2 Pro).

I also intend to replace the servo/motor's wire with that used for head phones which is smaller and can be wrapped in a single tube to make it appear as a single cable.
