When you speak of early do you refer to the real tiger or the model. As I have a tiger 1 with just 1 electronics board, no sound no smoke, would it be possible to put a more modern unit in?

Dusty does your Tiger have a crystal transmitter with an ariel mounted over the engine grille or is it a 2.4 Ghz digital,

Dusty, If you have the "ANCIENT" crystal non sound or smoker board and transmitter then if you are stretched for cash I would recommend getting a TAIGEN 2.4 digital control board, transmitter, and speaker from FORGEBEAR

on E-BAY for £60 including postage you will still need to buy a smoker and there are some effective ones available from Ian (TANKBEAR),
None of this is state of the art BUT it is infinitely better than a 27 Mhz set up and it is all plug and play,

I remember my first non smoke & sound but it was an RX 18 so I assumed that Dusty's was as well which shows how much I know

YES,

But the board comes with the sockets prewired to take a smoker and a speaker should you want to add them later.
