Adding .webm support

Is there any chance of having a generic video bbcode tag that allows .webm videos to be embedded into posts the same way YouTube videos can be? It'd be handy for sharing short (i.e. <30 second) demonstration videos or tests like this that just aren't worth uploading to YouTube or similar.
A quick search turns up a few phpBB modifications that can do it while adding some more functionality to the board. Just a thought!
