NOW WITH BRAND NEW PICS!!!
Got the green light to get a Jagdtiger from the funding committee a.k.a. my wife so it's on its way as I'm typing to my local hobby shop from one a few hours away. But as if that wasn't enough she told me I could build an outside tank "park" in the backyard! So this weekend when we break ground on a new patio I'll also break ground on my tank "park" too!
Looks like it's been a good thing I've been collecting troops and armour as now I'll have a place to set them up! I just WISH someone lived near me that was into R/C tanks that way we could battle! I've found a source for almost all of the 1/18 scale 21st Century models still new in boxes including the rare town scean kits!
Not sure what caused the change of heart for her but I'm not arguing! I have my new Jagdtiger on its way along with some 21st Century stuff I haven't seen in years!
Happy day, stand by for pics when I get the call that my tank is in!

That's awesome, Terry! Can I come play sometime? I'm kinda expecting you to come see the village sometime this summer, too. You know what might be cool? If a few of us took turns hosting a few buds for a tank weekend. I could do that pretty easy, and I have space for to or three guests. Wouldn't that be cool? Just a couple, three or maybe four guys getting together just to talk tanks and decompress for a day? I can see myself driving to the east coast, arriving late friday evening, all tanks all day on saturday, and hitting the road for home very early sunday morning. Not long enough to wear out my welcome, but long enough to have a great time. and that goes both ways, of course. If I have two or three guests for the weekdn i'm sure I'll be ready to boot everybody out by Sunday. :0 There's a guy in pennsylvania that hosts what he calls "fun runs" and they appear to be great fun. I want to make it down there for one this summer, I should make sure you and Bret get to know each other, eh?
I'll be sending a PM in a minute, as I just saw a great deal on fleabay for another 1/18 plane, but with the JT in your future you might be in a place to abuse the budget right now.
So what electronics are you putting in it, and did you get the desert or multi-color camo? IR or airsoft?

Max, it's an air soft version for $499.99, I think it's all dunklegelb out of the box but it's going to get a tri color soft edge camo scheme possibly an ambush pattern not 100% sure just yet. I've also picked out some detailing bits I'll be ordering from Christian as soon as I pick it up, I'm not holding my breath as it seems something always comes up at the very last moment that stops me from getting this tank!
It'll get an IBU2 system with amp card from Mr. Tankbear as soon as funding allows. Along with a TARR MKI smoker, the MKI is smaller so more room for everything else.
As for the next project beyond the JT I have my Hobby shop on the hunt for a Tamiya KT and a Trumpeter KT. I'm thinking the Tamiya won't be here till after the Trumpeter one just cause of the Tamiyas price tag. The Tamiya will be built as an IR battle tank and kept for local running or to go visit you or other members that can IR battle so it'll be detailed to the stupidest level I can make it which is why I want the Trumpeter kit first so I can try things on it first. My KT I built will remain my take to the park tank as its proved itself a beast.
As for 1/18 scale stuff I have about 40 different German troops, 2 Hanomog 251's 1 of which sports a 75mm gun on it the other those odd looking rockets or whatever they are. An 88mm flak 46 complete with road wheels that I have to build, an Indiana Jones 1/18 motorcycle with rider, 2 BF-109's, an ME-262, a JU -87 Stuka, and cause I couldn't pass it up a P -38 Lightning even though it wasn't one from the European theater.

They open at 10 am so I'm leaving the house at 9:30 am, I already have 2 5100mah batteries fully charged and waiting. As soon as I get home I'll start with the pictures.

That's a really good price, Terry. What's the sales tax there? 6% here, so that would add $30.
Can't wait to see photos. Any mods planned? I added a driver, and I'd really like to do a servo operated MG34 in the bow.

The only one they had was the air soft one with tri camo scheme which really looks good for straight out of the box, almost a shame to have to repaint it.
Stand by for pics.
