Do you guys leave those alarms in all the time... I assume the power drain with the small lights is negligible?

It protects the battery from being over discharged. When the alarm sounds you turn it off. I wouldn't recommend removing it as you won't be able to monitor the battery and you run the risk of killing the battery.

So even when not in use...just leave it attached?

So long as the battery is disconnected then the alarm doesn't need to be hooked up to it, only when in use.
Also I always balance charge mine, never fast charge.

They are just like smoke detector batteries, they always go off in the middle of the night if you leave them connected.

LMAO! yup!

LIPOs don't really self discharge so there's no reason to put something on them which causes that. As long as they've font some juice in after you've finished playing I would unplug the alarms.

Never leave the lipo alarm attached when not in use!!!

I forgot to remove one lipo alarm from an airsoft gun for some days. Thanks to god one day I heard the alarm diying (the battery had no power to make the alarm sound propperly). fastly I opened the weapon to remove the battery, and it was completelly round, like and orange.

Maybe a couple of hours later I would had set the hause on fire.

They don't tend to explode from running flat but they puff and are knackered.

I've left batteries with buzzers in and best case the buzzer wakes you up I the middle of the night, worst case you don't hear it and it ruins the battery

I've seen plenty videos of lipos exploding, but I dont know exactly why they do it. But good to know they dont explode for overdischarging...
