Yeah I tried it on my Leo 2 could not get it to work, used a ga250 gyro, also tried it with the gyro and a geko for rctanksaustralia but no luck with that either, it's programming it that's the difficult bit. Tankbear tried it too I think but don't think he had much luck either.
Here is the link to the discussion we had about it dude

Barry they're not good, I've tried several heli gyros and they don't work. What does work are submarine auto levellers but finding one with switchable gain has proved tricky.

Yeah I had a play and couldn't get to work.
It seemed to work better on the turret rotation using a 360 servo but after a few minutes throw a wobbly and send turret spinning by itself.

Had another go at it couple of weeks ago. Pretty crude and nothing like the real thing, but I am leaving them in there (GA-250s).

This was the best I could get mine,
It's levelled ok but got confused if you moved it past the limit of servo travel, so I ripped it out

The difference with a submarine leveller is it will give you a true level rather than opposing acceleration, which seem to be what heli gyros do, so if you move the tank slowly it won't level properly.

Impressive Michael a lot better than I ever managed.

tom, yours looks pretty good !
Iain, for $12 each the GA-250 is pretty good. I would imagine that it would look a little better still if there were a little more travel on the elevation as that seems to work reasonably well, and if the tank was a little faster on the rotation (but not too fast as to beat the gyro servo control speed). I am leaving them in there and then trying it out on our next battle day which is in April and see it in real life what it will look like.
It is definitely better than the last time I tried it also. I managed to actually tune the GA-250. The set-up is very confusing and difficult to access.
