Is anyone familiar with this toy? I'm trying to figure out the scale. I'm hoping someone will recognize it and maybe know the company that made it or the scale. It's pretty tough with no reference in the photos!

It's outside my limited knowledge of modelling, Gary, but something suggests 1/72 scale. I saw loads of models in that style in the Swiss Military Museum last year, and they were all 1/72. This almost look like diecast model that has been repainted...(smears on the Tyre rims etc..)

Thanks Paul, and I tend to agree, but I'm hoping I'll learn it's at least 1/18th. Make a great background piece and it's up for buy it now at $30 USD. The damned seller won't respond, and that's a real red flag all by itself. The worst that can possibly happen is I'll have to wait a couple months to get my money back, but with ebay's protection, combined with the paypal policy, I'm tempted to just buy it and see what happens, but it's just a bit too much dough in the current state of affairs. If it were ten bucks I might pop, but 30's a bit steep to find out I made a bad move!

I did make a good score on stuff for the farmhouse recently, and I'll post a thread soon on that subject (accessories).

I'm thinking 1/35th...just because the figures aren't articulated.....the paint also looks too messy to have come off any production line....and the frame of the half track is pretty crooked...so definitely something built up
30 dollars is way too much IMO....I'm sure the unbuilt kit sells for less than that...Personally I would take a pass on this one...especially if the seller isn't answering your questions

I heard from the seller and I think y'all are right. He says the figures are less than two inches tall so 1/35 is probably right on. Thanks for all the help, guys, this is just one more reason I value this forum so much, it keeps me from wasting money!

Hey Max....Just so long you didn't buy it ...I have to admit...when I first saw this post ...the first "identity" in my mind was that it was a piece of junk ...but figuring there might have been some toes stepped on..had to find a better way to express that view

Looks like the General is taking no prisoners today, Gary. I can see the problem in a model village, of mixing figures and buildings of differing scales though..a bit like Gulliver and his Lilliputian pals in the Lilliput landscape. In the event that you DO receive it, and it's 1/35..couldn't you just put a big magnifying glass in front of it? Or, simply place it in the landscape so it appears far off, when in fact it's quite near
On a more sympathetic note, I hate waste..and especially wasting money. Here you have the moral high ground..and the trader's standards fall far below your own. Then, thinking of waste,maybe that's why I didn't toss out the freebie Heng Long smoker juice out when it arrived. I do enjoy the virtual tours of the VILLAGE, though; but remember: 'I'm not a number (No 6)..I'm a free man'...since we are chucking Tv series references about!!

PS.. like your castle plan...but the scale could be an issue. Remember 'Spinal Tap' and the Stonehenge cock-up..where they ordered a full size mock-up for their stage performance?... and they got:.

Don't worry, guys, I found other ways to spend the money, see the accessories thread.

I checked on the castle, and in our scale the longest wall is just over 8 feet. But you'll have to remember, mine will be based on Dunstaffnage, and not an exact replica. I already know i won't be doing the rock foundation, or at least not as noticeably.
