Hi guys,

This might sound a weird question but here goes.

Iam use to a tx having planes and helis only, so say i get a futaba r spektrum tx which is used as we all know tanks dont have aileron rudder flaps etc. So which do you put ur tank on?

I hope ive made this question clear thank guys.

Sarge,

It is really a personal preference as to what mode and also how you map to a heli set-up, but Heng Long/Taigen has use the right stick for throttle and turning, while the left stick is used for other misc tank functions. Not to sure what a full option Tamiya is set-up, but I believe it is similar, except that they also use the trim for some tank functions.

I find the main difference is that it is more convenient to have both stick self centered, since for throttle for tanks there is a forward and backwards, where it is linear one way for heli. The multi function stick for tanks is usually self centered anyway and so is a heli set-up (i.e. non throttle stick).

Having said that, the new Mato radio (The orange rebrand one from HobbyKing T6A series I believe) comes with the throttle stick on the right and NOT self centered. So you have to pay attention when you start up.

Hi Brendan,

Pretty much any 4 channel radio will work tank electronics (not taigen or henglong), but like MichaelC said most don't have a center spring return on the throttle stick. Planes & Heli may require mixing of channels but thanks need no mixing but most radios can turn mixing off.

So your better off buying a radio to suit your plane/heli use and with turning mixing off and getting used to no center return on the throttle will work your tank.

No sir, you only can use taigen radios with taigen boards.

The radio I use with my tanks is the flysky th9xb with tank sorftware. Absolutelly love it.

A 6 channel would be good and as there is hardly any difference in price an 8 channel would be better. I would recommend you find one with a rotary control. (It helps with volume etc)
