Max Is Makin' Movies!

Post by Max-U52 »

Yeah, I got me this here book called Windows For Dummies (cuz they didna have "Windows For Idjits") and I finally got around to actually reading part of it. Man, ya teach a hippie a trick ...

I did this with stuff I had in the computer from last year, and the storyboards are already runnin' through the ol' melon for what I'm gonna get up to this summer. For a lot of people this is pretty simple stuff, but I'm having fun and it's all new to me. Stay tuned ...

Jeff, if you should happen to see this, at about 2:10 to 2:14 I drive past the S33 Tiger (it's also in the preview frame) and I was thinkin' it would be pretty cool if the TC turned his head to the left and lifted his left arm in a wave. So when are you going to do a TC that fits a Taigen/HL Tiger? I imagine he'd sell a lot better than a Sherman Jockey, but we all know I'm biased.

I need a name. I used to use "A Squad Video", but that was before I found my real home forum. I was thinking "A U-52 Production"? What do y'all think?

It's supposed to be MovieOne.1 (as in movie one point one) but youtube doesn't recognize the dot. :( That's just so I can keep track and this is the first edit (point one) of the first movie I ever made. Hippies need reminders like that. :) But now I can take video with this in mind and I have some ideas that just might be kinda cool.

..How about "Max- tracks" videos, Gary? Something on those lines maybe.. 'U" boats are great for family history links, but don't readily bring tiger/ sherman tanks to mind :problem:

Not bad, Roy, but I'm not sure I want the name to says "Tanks" as much as I want it to say "Me", if ya know what I mean.

By the way, Roy, did you notice this one is slightly different from the one I sent you? I added another scene, and that's why it's "point one", as the second version of the first attempt. This summer I'll take a lot more short little clips just so I can string them together.

Thanks, Wibbs, I'm really quite pleased that you like it, and to quote BTO, You ain't seen nothin' yet! :haha:

I can't wait for summer! The only trouble is that I now have so many scenes I want to do I think I might have to move to a warmer climate. I really only get to use my tank village for two and a half months a year, and I don't think that's gonna be enough. And before anybody asks, no, I won't even consider anything in the snow. :/

Yep, and it all hangs together nicely,Gary  What interests me about video shorts for tanks, and I'm sure it figures in your plans too, is what sort of unusual angles you can get: e.g;filmed from grass level; from the air; through a tanker periscope or vision slot; from a 'trench' being overrun by a tank; in wide angle, and from another tank going side by side with it. ..and more. The latter, would give interesting shots of the main tank in the storyboard, and a sense of motion peculiar to tracked vehicles, especially when going cross-country. Also, filming in sepia or black and white can add an 'authentic' feel to WW2 themes; but it can look quite cool anyway. With your enthusiasm and existing kit, you can explore all of these aspects and much more. You've already made a good start, and should you want a video production name that doesn't speak specifically of tanks, you could use 'Periscope productions' or 'Max HDroom" (little jest), 'U-52 fps' and so on...just a few off the cuff ideas to prompt a spot of speculation..
