A very simple question. Are there any UK or EU outlets for Impact parts, or do all purchases have to be made through the Singapore based Mitosal.com web-site?

Nope it's mitosal only I believe. Welshdragon used to be able to get some of the tracks but I'm not sure it that is the case.

Mitosal use FedEx air freight, so you'll get your items pretty quick. I think my last order got here in 4 days. That's slower than last time!

Well Bill I have had a pack of 40 x 3mm wing nuts on order from Mitosal for a week and based on previous experience I expect to be waiting at least another week which is fine with me because I am pretty sure I will get them, so your experience quite surprised me,
I think my best postal experience was from Kevin at RCTA sending me an "ASP" in six days, Although Quite often with RCTA it actually comes via a "Hobby zone" warehouse.

Perhaps the price of your order means a slower service. I've only ever put in orders for tracks+other items etc and they've come quickly each time. You can get something from the US delivered within 36 hours for a reasonable price if you pick the right service.

I've had single replacement gears done under RMA reach me in a week, usually the other stuff is the same.

It's not the timescale that really concerns me, it's the financial uncertainty. Ordering from Singapore over a certain value renders the items liable for VAT, which obviously inflates the price of what are quite expensive goods. In addition, if there is VAT to pay, you then get stuffed with a handling fee (unknown) by the courier service. Based on a previous experience with a camera lens, the fee is not insubstantial. Overall, it makes it impossible to know exactly what things will cost. I prefer to know what I am going to pay for things before I go ahead.

Richard Hi, I used to buy Wing/Butterfly nuts from Either www,welshdragonmodels.co.uk or from Axels or Dom in Germany they were Schumo and there was not much between the three in price but for a period of time Schumo products went missing so I looked elsewhere and found "Mitosal" in Singapore and after all charges they were about the same price except you got more in a pack from Mitosal so that's where I shop now for Wing/Butterfly nuts,
The finish on the Schumo is a nice shiny one compared to Mitosal but as I always paint them a shiny wing nut is an irrelevance.
Shaun.

He usually marks it as a gift and under the vat threshold
