Hi All

Thought I'd try out a yellow ochre acrylic paint on some tools today, I mixed a small amount of white with the ochre and thinned a dark oil to finish to weather the tool's, I was fairly pleased with the outcome....quite convincing or not ???

They look great! I was making my tool handles from cocktail sticks. Then I tried the rough sand, yellow and brown wash technique. The painted ones looked better than the wood!

Cheers Tom..I've always looked at the tool's I paint and never seem to think they looked quite right, I tried a few diff mixes paint, washes, but this one with the ochre and dab of white and the wash looks close enough for me...I heard about the cocktail sticks but never tried.
