Challenger 2 Build Questions

Can I get some help with my first ever build.

I have the HL Challenger 2 and I've bought the DKLM road wheels and sprocket etc. I also have the Leopard metal tracks.

I've never painted a model like this before. I did some airfix kits when I was younger...a very long time ago.

Do I need to primer paint the metal road wheels and suspension parts etc before painting and can I mount these on the Challenger 2 before priming and painting?

Do the metal track need priming?

Mark

Mark Hi, I endorse all that Paul has told you, A Japanese company "MR HOBBY" makes some top quality products that aid modelling and if you go to -
http://www.scalemodelshop.co.uk
you will see some of their range on sale For metal I would suggest you type in the box " MR METAL Metal Primer"
Just lightly brush the metal surfaces of your Tank before using a primer of your choice then the top coat,
After that come the washes and about now your Partner, the Bank manager and your doctor will be searching you out :haha:
shaun.

thanks Shaun and Paul.

I'm heading over to SnMstuff tomorrow and I see they do the Mig washes and the Mr Metal pre primer. I've just about finished fitting the DKLM parts so I'l be starting on the turret next.

Shaun, when you say lightly brush do you mean with a brush or via an 'air brush'?

Only question is should I get the DKLM recoil unit...

Agreed Bank manager already has a hit man looking for me.

I would avoid putting Metal Primer through an airbrush, If you use an Airbrush you will use a great deal more than you need what with loading the mix then after finishing, Cleaning the airbrush then unloading the mix whereas painting straight from the bottle you use just what you need and no waste.
Remember you are only sealing the metal from the Paint so it only has to cover the metal not build up a deep coat,
It will dry quickly ready for your Primer.
That little Mr Metal 40 ml bottle will last forever or should do :lolno:
