Non-Elevating Tiger Barrel

Hi,
The barrel on my Taigen Tiger 1 has just stopped elevating. I've stripped it down and the funny shaped plastic thing that pushes it up and down isn't rotating. I've pushed all the plugs in and looked for loose connections and nothing is obvious. Any suggestions please?

Did you check the motor by itself?

You'll need a variable voltage DC power supply, or a simple battery pack supplying around 4 to 6v Dc (4x1.2 v AA batteries will do). Then you'll need a positive and negative probes, or paired back red/black wires (for the sake of clarity) .. The three pin connector from the turret (either: red/black/black, or, on Taigen models: Blue/Yellow/Pink) triggers the Airsoft and the Elevation function. Red connector (+ive) on outside and centre black allow you to test the airsoft. Red connector and outer (2nd) black connector drive the elevation function. Thus, connect a positive
probe (or carefully paired back red wire) into red terminal, and a back probe into 2nd (outer) back connector. The Elevator motor should begin to rotate. If not, you'll need a new one....
Bon Chance! ...For Taigen wiring, Yellow is +ive and Blue _ I've..

LOL....Just take out the motor...hook it to the RX...and see if it works :haha: :haha: ....then you can follow what 43 suggested...or make a test lead set that will hook to the stock battery and connect red to red...and just touch the black...if it runs ...something is jamming the gears...or the plastic pinion is cracked

Well thank you both for that. When I've finished I'll learn Mandarin Chinese it will be easier. Only kidding, hopefully somebody at my club next Sunday will understand that and translate it for me. If I'm lucky they may teach me stuff like that. Thank you for your time and support. Much appreciated.

Hey! My instructions were simple :wtf: ....all you need is a screwdriver to remove the motor :P ....43 made it complicated :haha: :haha: :haha:

Now with that cleared up lol...Just take out the motor.....put the power lead back in the slot where it came from and see if it works when you push on the transmitter stick...if it doesn't run...it's probably your motor...if it does check the between the teeth of the pinion..it could be cracked...if it's cracked it will slip rather than turn your mech....thing is ...I don't think you can get a new pinion without buying a motor

Now...if the motor doesn't run....you can follow what 43 suggested...or make a test lead....one end with the normal battery (for your tank) plug on it...and the two wires that come from it exposed...touch the corresponding colors and see if the motor turns...if it doesn't...it's definitely dead...if it does...once again check the pinion...then plug it into the black box again (the RX)....now if you don't get any response if it's plugged into the RX...then there's a good chance there is a problem there

PS..Just noticed...your motor connects to that printed board....that is where you would plug in...not the RX

Thanks Alpha, I'm just having a lay down in a dark room. I will save these instructions for club day on Sunday and get some back up. I'm not that confident yet to start taking motors out.

ooooo...........K... :D ...Quick check...when you do power up the elevation...does the motor make noise...if it does the pinion is cracked...maybe someone in your club may have a spare ....THEN...you can have some practice taking out the motor lol....also if it does make noise then the rest of your electrical is good
