I see you went for the steel dual ratio gearboxes, how do you like them? I have brass in my Stug, but I also have a set of the steel and when I had them in the Tauchpanzer I thought they were very loud so I went back to brass in that tank as well. Did you stick with the stock 360 motors? I know from experience that 380s will fit and they really make a big difference.

The steel gear boxes seem OK and the sounds drown out any noise they make.I will see how the stock motors go for now but nice to know the 380s fit ok if needed.

I have brass dual ratio GBs with 380s in my Tauchpanzer and they make a huge difference. Much more power.
Your Stug looks really great, Del. Did you recreate an actual tank or just kind of freestyle it? Either way it looks fantastic. I just got done painting the camo on mine, and I decided not to go for historical accuracy, just a reasonable representation of the class, so with that in mind I gave it a camo paint scheme to match the S33 Tiger. Still not sure what numbers I'll use, but probably 214 since I have a good set in the spares box.

I started with the idea of modelling an actual tank, spent hours looking at pictures. Then when I got the air brush in my hand I just went with what felt right.I will be sorting out some stencils to do the numbers.
Thanks for the motors/box info, will prob try that sort of set up in the next build when I work out what it is.

I like the way you put the spare roadwheel on the front. Did you use the mounting thingie like the ones on the rear hatches or did you make your own? I'd love to see a close up if you got one, and I'm gonna snap a quick photo of where I'm at with my Stug to see if you have any ideas. That will have to wait, though, as the seamstress is finally coming to see if we can make a GP Medium tent in 1/16 scale.
