hi everyone at the weekend i went to a transport show run by the local scout group as a fund raiser.
i was displaying my rc aircraft and my tanks and i got talking to an old friend who is into ww2 wargames.
me and lily had ago and it was great fun even tho i lost >:(.
and i sugested the war gamers team up with us lot and have a huge battle

.
they seid they would have to work out some rules and measurements due to a bigger scale and said it could be done.
so i am posting this idea to see what people think. they go to shows all over the country to premote the hobby and thought it would be a good idea to try it with a bigger scale and to promote ours.
you dont need to have infa red you can even use static cannons an vehicles even figures.
i think this sounds like a lot of fun let me know what you think and if we get a good response we will try to organise some chaos

.

Jeeze and I thought Warhammer made for some big battle fields. Sounds great but too many tanks will really slow down the game play. Line of sight will look great thought and you'll have so many great Kodak moments

this does sound good , although you would have to magourly alter the pnts vlaues as i doubt ou could get many tanks into one battle!
i myself in a warhammer game have feilded 7 tanks, not to mention the infanty, and my freind had 4, (it was an apocolypse game for those who would recognise it) and jeese it was a struggle to fir it all onto the board!!!
its a great idea though mate! and if you get board of the game you can fire up the tanks and shoot IR at eachother!!!

most warhammer battles are set out on 4x4 or 6x4 tables, I have known wargames be played on an 18ft x 6ft table, and larger with thousands of figures involved. if they are gaming at 15 or 20mm scale, 1/100, 1/72, then it should be farly easy to transfer the groundscale to a wargames layout and vice versa.

talking of baneblades, I saw an R/C one that they had built for gamesday, think that was 1/6th scale, could have crushed a mini I reckon lol

yh i saw that 1/6 baneblade on the internet somewhere

its hugh!
anyway genurally warhammer is 1/36 scale
however if you've seen the ifo around on the net or read any of the warhammer books you'll know that a space marine is about 8ft if there were real, but in the game to that scale they would be about 6ft, and you ever tried putting 16 maries in a crusaded lol

(i did and they ended up in bits

)
cheers,
Matt
