Hi,

New to the hobby and I'm looking for a longer battery for my Taigen Tiger I. The stock battery is a 7.2V 2000mAh NiMh battery. I believe it will for run for about 25 minutes.
I saw that IMEX has a Nimh charger that can charge the battery I have in about one hour as opposed to the 3-4 hrs the stock charger takes.

Any battery suggestions?

I really appreciate the inout.

thanks,
Wes

Before I swapped out the electronics on my tanks I ran 7.2 5000 Nimh From HobbyKing. I would get about 60min out of one in my tamiaya's and about 70min in my Taigens. You could always run a 2s lipo with a battery alarm to prevent you from killing them. I have a hand full of 2s 6200's that fit in the Taigen pocket just fine. Just my 2 cents.

Second bwgreen73's comment. I run 5000 mAh 2S hardcase lipo from Hobbyking as well. I also have a 13,000mAh that will fit in the Taigen metal chassis. Before warn, neither Taigen or Heng Long supports lipo, although I gather that the new Heng Long Chally 2 comes with a lipo battery supposedly.

I appreciate the assistance. I am thinking of going the NiMh route. Are there any specific manufacturers you recommend? I am looking at Venom and Racer's Edge from Amazon.

I ran Venom lipos in my pattern planes for years before going to Thunderpower. You will not be disappointed in Venom!!!!

My KT has a 7600mah lipo, weights in at almost 20lbs and I can get 3 hours of serious off road run time out of it.

An LBS by me sells an 8000 mah 100c lipo for $79. Found out right after I bought a 5000 mah. Doh.

The hobby is Larry's Performance RC.
