Tiger 1 Roadwheel photograph

Can anyone help?

Somewhere I have seen a photograph of a Tiger 1 abd in the foreground there is a roadwheel with what appears to be '75 kgs' chalked upon it.

I thought I must have seen it here on this site but I've looked everywhere and failed to find it. Does anyone remember seeing such a photograph?

My intention is to model a repaired Tiger, one that has had a number of links replaced together with a rear idler and rear most road wheel. I intend to patch the hull and then have the track links, idler and road wheel in red oxide with the chalked weight on the wheel. This will represent a tank that has at one time been disabled with a shot to the rear right track and wheels, then recovered and repaired. I just cannot remember the exact inscription on the wheel.

I was going to use a late version Tiger solid steel road wheel but didn't know if they were inter-changeable.

Thanks for any assistance.

These markings, as far as I know, were not made at the factory. They were written on wheels shipped to Tunisia in 1942-3, and they were written because the supply routes for spare parts were rather chaotic in that place and time.

So, s.Pz.Abt. 501 or 504 would be the owner of this wheel. I have never seen these markings on any other unit's Tigers.

Thank you David.

That's just what I was after.
