Re: Tamiya 1/16 KV1
Idlers and sprockets are cast items with the kit
Re: Tamiya 1/16 KV1
Sprockets built and fitted along with the rear hull brace/upper hull attachment.
Waiting for some synthetic rubber glue?! And my receiver to continue the build.
A shot with the Tiger shows just how big this tank was!

I'll run the stock plastic tracks, not really interested in metal ones, despite the fact they look better.
I've spent enough on tanks let alone buying tracks

Re: Tamiya 1/16 KV1
I agree. I put metal tracks on my Tamiya JS-2 and had to buy the tracks $110.00, gear box brace $36.00 and a Henn Tec idler at $35.00. All plus shipping. I've found that the Tamiya plastic tracks are very good quality and work well. The metal tracks do look good on the JS and work well, but I won't be buying anymore for my Tamiya tanks.Ad Lav wrote:I'll run the stock plastic tracks, not really interested in metal ones, despite the fact they look better.

Re: Tamiya 1/16 KV1
Sorry Tom I mis-spoke. My JS-2 does not have a gearbox brace, just the tracks and idler system. I've bought a few from ETO and thought the JS was one of them.tomhugill wrote:Who does the gearbox brace? I quite fancy the metal tracksjtracks wrote:I agree. I've seen gearbox braces for the Sherman and Pershing but not these ones.
I'd be interested in one as the three pegs don't seem that good lol
